The Show Must Go On

I've got to say this is probably one the best Korean gangster films I've seen.  It finally takes a more human side to the whole genre.  Good mix of emotions, the main character is well rounded and believable.  Check it out.

I haven't been on here forever.  But all the different popular online communities don't really offer a good blog.  So i've decided i'm gonna keep writing in here.  I need to clear my head.

As of late, i've been working.  graduated college winter of 06 and dove right into the "real" world.  it sux.  making an extra buck legitimately is hardly easy.  I just keep my head up knowing that things are progressing forward.  no other choice but to move forward.  moving forward is the difficult part and it requires so much patience because the pace can be excruciatingly slow.  i like results and quick ones.  so i've set a deadline for myself.

if i don't find myself promoted or find a substantial increase in salary by next fiscal year...i'm gonna go back home to texas.  as of yet, i still require the financial assistance and can end that with a simple move back home.  help out the family instead of just trying to make it out here.  dallas actually has a large amount of video game companies and i think i could land a job in one of those companies.  it beats being santa's lil elf (i work at a marketing/advertisement company that deals with holiday stuff).

i'll  be back home for thanxgiving and i think its a much needed break.  need to be with family and familiar faces.  round of drinks on me when i get back!

monk status

these days, i've been feeling pretty mellow.  i mean i've been stressed from work, work and my work at home. BUT! all in all, things haven't been gettin to me like they used to.  nowadays, i noticed....i can walk away, and i'm glad i can.  i used to think that "walking away" was a crime when it came to manhood, masculinity.  now when i look at it, that mentality is nothing but trouble.  life can be so much more pleasant with a passive attitude.

i think its the weather....its been pretty nice here.

often, the problem is the answer. so let it go.

I don't even know....

The media doesn't handle the situation well. For that matter, the higher ups don't handle this properly....but even more so.....our generation doesn't know how to handle this. These mass school shootings have been way too frequent amongst our generation....so what does that say about all of us? Simply put, its us killing us.

I think the bigger issue at hand is the fact that we just don't know how to treat each other right anymore....there's been a pattern here with these people committing these atrocities: alienation, depression, skewed perceptions of reality. I think our generation has far gone down the wrong way. People in general need to get out of their own bubbles and start paying attention to each other more, be more attentive, and treat each other right. I think there needs to be reform in our younger society. What we need is a large uniform campaign against hate crimes and violence organized by the public/the younger people...not a bunch ol' politicians debating on how to change and restrict our freedoms to prevent this. The laws that are in effect now haven't been an issue until these situtations came about. So do we question the law, the functionality of system? We question whether the school, police, and whoever handled this right...how did he get the gun? etc. We need to question why this happened in the first place...what drove him to this point? what drove the others to that point? We need to question ourselves and the impact we have on others. We, as a whole, need to take responsiblity and stop pointing fingers. We need to question why there haven't been rallies against violence....why our generation hasn't moved together with an outcry for this to stop....how could it have been prevented? Did he have signs of mental instability, was he abused? harassed by his fellow classmates, family? We need to focus on real issues that show we care....

But maybe thas it....the majority of our generation might not care, unfortunately. I don't know.

I hope that their lives weren't slain in vain. I hope that our generation gets a wake up call from this.

I see a problem but no solution.
